Sunshine on Leith GEORGIE!!
Well, the production team for Falkirk Operatic Society’s (FOS) upcoming show would probably prefer it that way!
The green and maroon of Scottish football clash again, but this time, it’s not on the pitch! Thirty miles along the M9 from Edinburgh, in Larbert, is where you’ll find the FOS bringing the jukebox musical, based on the music of The Proclaimers, to the Dobbie Hall from the 18th-20th September.
With Hibernian Football Club at the heart of the community’s storyline you can expect well kent songs, big laughs and heartfelt moments, all brought together by a couple of Jambos….
Devout Heart of Midlothian supporters – Gavin Orr (Director) and Carlie-Anne Spowart (Choreographer) – have come together, along with Lynn Anderson (Musical Director), to manage the Falkirk company on to the stage and score their own cup-final winner.
Gavin Orr said, “when I was approached to direct the show, I immediately phoned my Dad. He’s the main reason I support Hearts, so I felt the need to gain his blessing (jokingly). He’s got his tickets, so no pressure!”
The production team hit it off from the first rehearsal and when Gavin and Carlie-Anne found out they were fellow Jambos, they were even more inspired to bring some heart to this musical.
Carlie-Anne said, “I was honoured to be asked to choreograph Falkirk Operatic’s latest show, but I quickly swallowed my pride when I found out exactly which show it was! I’ve reassured my Dad that my allegiance offstage remains the same!”
Has it been too much of a tall ask for the two Heart’s fans?
You’ll have to get your tickets and find out.
